Redesigned Traditional Tehuana Tanguyu

Design Research Project

Istmo´s traditional hand-made clay doll (Tanguyu) reborn as a redesigned ceramic mold made doll.

Fired at high temperature and hand decorated using the visual and cultural characteristics of the region, she emerged as a new design possibility, atracting new and foreigners buyers.

Aproximately 100 dolls were made by myself alone at Unistmo´s Ceramic Workshop, Tehuantepec, Oaxaca, México
